Move over, Activision. Activision here. “Call of Duty: Black Ops sold 5.6 million copies in 24 hours, making it the biggest entertainment launch ever, Activision said Thursday. This beats the previous record of 4.7 million, Activision set last year with “Call Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
“There has never been another franchise that has entertainment by opening files per day for two consecutive years," said Activision CEO Bobby Kotick in a statement. The game is also on track to exceed five days, last year’s record sales worldwide, which was 550 million, “said Kotick. Activision seats total turnover of $ 360 million today, which is an amount proper money, I suppose. One wonders whether – 5.6 billion people do not really care about Call of Duty, or that they all just want to play Zork?
